Michelle Doll was born in Canton, Ohio and received her BFA from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio and her MFA from the New York Academy of Art in New York. Doll is the recipient of the 2019 Fellowship Grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. She has been awarded residencies at Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation (ESKFF) at Mana Contemporary, Jersey City, NJ, Galleri Ramfjord in Oslo, Norway, Eden Rock on St. Barths (French West Indies) and received the Prince of Wales / Forbes Foundation Travel Grant in 2006. Doll was among the top ten female artists in 2019 to receive an Honorable Mention by the Bennett Prize for figurative realism. Doll’s paintings have been exhibited in the US and internationally in cities such as New York, San Francisco, London, Oslo, St. Barths and Basel, Switzerland, and have been featured in shows curated by Eric Fischl, April Gornik, David Salle and Will Cotton. Michelle Doll lives and works in Hoboken, NJ.
