Shona Macdonald received a BA in Painting from the Glasgow School of Art and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and New Zealand. Recent one person exhibitions include Uncanny Valley at Independent Art Projects in North Adams, MA in 2015, and Waving Frontal System at Gridspace in Brooklyn, NY in 2014. Her work has been reviewed in Art in America, The Boston Globe, Artscope, and The Chicago Tribune. Public collections include Evansville Museum of Arts and Science, Fitchberg Art Museum, and the Sackner Collection of Concrete and Visual Poetry. She is the recipient of the Marion and Jasper Whiting Foundation Award in 2014, and the Berkshire Taconic Individual Artist Grant in 2014. The artist lives and works in South Hadley, MA.
